Good content, but payment options could be clearer

Everand (formerly Scribd) is definitely a step up from using Libby for audiobooks, especially when you can't find what you want there. I've been a subscriber for about 8 months now, mostly for the vast array of self-help books like "Atomic Habits," which I devoured, and a few cookbooks. The content library is consistently great, always something new to browse. My main frustration was trying to update my payment method this month; it took me a good 15 minutes of digging through menus to find the right spot. It felt less intuitive than updating my Kobo Plus subscription. Once I found it, it was straightforward, but the initial search was annoying. Otherwise, solid service for the price.

Always reliable content

I've been using Everand for a while now, mostly for audiobooks and some digital magazines. My latest subscription renewal went smoothly, just like the others. It's consistently good to have such a wide selection available without any fuss. The app has been stable across my devices, which is a big plus. I keep coming back because I know what to expect.

Love my new audiobooks!

Oh my gosh, Everand is amazing! I just finished 'The Midnight Library' audiobook and it was so good. The selection of true crime audiobooks is incredible, I've already lined up my next three listens. The app is super easy to use, and I love being able to switch between my phone and tablet. I'm definitely going to keep my subscription and tell all my friends about it!

Great value on annual plan

I decided to try Everand after comparing it to Kindle Unlimited, primarily for the ebooks and some business guides. I got the annual subscription, which saved me about 20% compared to monthly payments, making it a very good deal. Access to all the content was instant after signing up. I found a few personal finance guides and a biography I'd been meaning to read. For the price, it felt completely worth it.

Seamless experience, vast library

My recent experience with Everand was quite positive. I signed up for the annual plan to access a wider range of academic papers and some specific history books. The onboarding process was straightforward; creating an account and selecting the subscription took less than five minutes. Immediately after, I could download books for offline reading, which is essential for my commute. I also tried out a few digital magazine subscriptions, and the quality was excellent on my tablet. The search function in the app worked well for finding niche topics like specific government reports. So far, no technical hiccups and everything loads quickly. It's exactly what I needed for research and leisure reading.

Easy access to books

Signed up for a month. Found the young adult fiction I wanted. App worked fine on my phone. Downloaded for offline. No problems.

Good value, minor app issues

I signed up for Everand for the sheet music and nonfiction ebooks. The library is quite extensive and I found several titles I wanted to read right away, so the value is definitely there. Delivery, since it's digital, was instant. Customer service was quick to respond when I had a question about a specific cookbook. My only minor gripe is that sometimes the app can be a bit slow to load on my older tablet, but it's not a deal-breaker. Overall, a solid service.

Anyone else having trouble downloading books for offline reading on the Everand app recently? Mine keeps failing after about 20%.

I noticed if my storage is almost full, it acts up. Check your phone storage.

Yeah, that's often the culprit for me too.

Hmm, actually my storage is pretty low. Didn't think of that! Will clear some space.

Mine works okay on Wi-Fi, but if I try on mobile data, it's really inconsistent. Could be your connection?

N NikhilS 4 hours ago
Good point, I'll try a different Wi-Fi. Thanks!

Yeah, I had that last week with a couple of e-books. Audiobooks seemed fine though. Restarted my phone and it worked eventually.

Same issue here with magazines.

My Everand promo code isn't working. It's a 60-day free trial code I got from a podcast. Keeps saying 'invalid' or 'expired'. Anyone else faced this? Wondering if these types of codes have a short shelf life.

G gamerraj 3 weeks ago
I used a 30-day free trial code a few weeks back and it worked fine. Maybe try clearing your browser cache or using an incognito window?
6
T techfreak 3 weeks ago
Tried incognito, no luck. I'll probably just grab the standard 30-day trial from their site then.

S Sneha22 3 weeks ago
Following. Had a similar issue with a student discount code not applying correctly last month.

T techfreak 3 weeks ago
Did you get the student discount sorted out eventually?

N NikhilS 3 weeks ago
Sometimes those podcast codes are region-specific or have an expiry date that isn't clearly mentioned. I had one from a YouTube channel that didn't work outside the US.

Did you try contacting their customer service? They might be able to help or offer an alternative.

Ah, that could be it. I'm in India, maybe it's US-only. Thanks!

Anyone know if Everand books can be downloaded for offline reading? I want to read stuff on my commute without burning data.

K Kate F. 1 month ago
Yeah, totally. That's how I listen to audiobooks on flights. Just hit the download button.

M Megan L. 1 month ago
You can! Just make sure to download them when you have Wi-Fi. It's a lifesaver for travel or if you have spotty service.

Just got the Everand annual subscription after my trial ended. The yearly discount was pretty decent compared to monthly, but wondering if I should've waited for a Black Friday deal. Anyone here got a subscription during a major sale?

P PoojaR 1 month ago
I used a referral code from a friend a while back, got an extra month free on top of the annual discount. Not as good as Black Friday probably, but better than nothing.
6
P PriyaS 1 month ago
Good to know about referral codes! I'll keep that in mind for next year.

I always wait for Black Friday or Cyber Monday. Got my yearly plan for like 40% off last year. It’s a significant saving if you can hold out.

P PriyaS 1 month ago
Wow, 40% is huge! I only saw about 20% off for the annual plan.

I snagged a Black Friday deal a couple years ago. It was good, but honestly, even the regular annual discount is pretty solid for the amount of content you get. I mostly use it for audiobooks and they have a good collection.

P PriyaS 1 month ago
True, the audiobook library is why I got it. Much better than Audible's credit system for my reading habits.

S Sneha22 1 month ago
Do they have many true crime audiobooks? Been looking for something new.

Is it true you can only read a certain number of books a month on Everand? Or is it truly unlimited like they say?

A Alex E. 1 month ago
For audiobooks, it's pretty unlimited in my experience. I've blasted through like 5-6 in a month no problem.

T Tara 1 month ago
Some people say they hit a limit on popular ebooks, but I've never personally had an issue. Maybe it depends on what you're reading. I mostly do older non-fiction and haven't seen any restrictions.

Thinking of signing up for Everand, but saw some stuff about Scribd. Is it basically the same thing or totally different content?

J Jared 2 months ago
It's pretty much the same library from what I can tell. They just rebranded the 'published content' part of Scribd into Everand.
0
M Marcus Whitfield 2 months ago
Yeah, Everand spun off from Scribd. So if you had a Scribd sub, Everand is included. Most of the books and audiobooks transferred over, just under a new name and app.

Does Everand let you use promo codes for extended free trials? Or is it all just those referral links?

B Ben Beaumont 2 months ago
Mostly referral links for the longer trials like 60 days, from what I've seen. You usually click a special link to get those.
1
W Wendy 2 months ago
They do have actual promo code fields during checkout sometimes, but for the extended trials, it's usually those special landing pages or referral links. Just keep an eye out for Black Friday or Cyber Monday, sometimes they have specific codes then.

Just got the Everand annual subscription discount, but wondering if I should have waited for Black Friday. Anyone have experience with their Black Friday deals?

S Sneha 3 weeks ago ✓ Best Answer
Honestly, the annual discount itself is usually pretty solid. Sometimes waiting for BF isn't a huge difference, maybe just an extra week or two free. Depends on how much you use it.
11
P PriyaS 3 weeks ago
That's what I'm hoping. I use it a lot for audiobooks.
6
A AmitM 3 weeks ago
Yeah, I wouldn't stress too much. You still got a good deal.
5
R Rahul87 3 weeks ago
Hey Priya, I usually wait for BF too! Last year, they had a really good one, like an extra month free or something on top of the annual rate. Hard to say if it'll be better this year though.
12
D Deepak 3 weeks ago
Yeah, sometimes the BF deals are pretty sweet. I got a 30% off last year.
